- For scanned PDFs, which are pictures of pages: the text is recognized and becomes editable. Choose up to two languages of the document: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. OCR takes about 20-30 seconds per page.

Getting the best result
- If the text of the Word document is garbled or missing, the PDF is probably a scan: convert it again in the OCR mode.
- If the layout matters more than editing, try the Exact mode.
